About This Project
This project in North Reading MA, presented a unique set of challenges, beginning with the significant grade correction required to accommodate the fiberglass pool installation. The original yard sloped unevenly, necessitating extensive excavation, backfill, and compaction to create a stable, level base. Precision was critical—fiberglass pools demand exact leveling tolerances, and any ground movement could compromise the shell integrity over time.
In addition to raising and leveling the yard, the design included integrating a spillway feature, requiring tight coordination to ensure seamless water flow into the pool and proper hydraulic function. Site logistics were also complicated by limited access and simultaneous construction of a fire pit, pool house, and outdoor kitchen. Managing multiple trades and phases on a tight schedule meant navigating frequent adjustments while maintaining the design intent and build quality.
This project also demanded foresight in utility planning. The inclusion of gas, electric, and plumbing lines for the pool equipment, fire features, kitchen appliances, and lighting all had to be strategically routed and installed prior to hardscape work. Coordination with the pool manufacturer, inspectors, and other contractors working on the property added another layer of complexity.
Despite the challenges, the finished product is a cohesive, high-end outdoor living space that blends form and function—transforming a previously sloped and underutilized yard into a stunning retreat.
